Smashed Pink Vase, 2006, Unique Chromogenic Photogram
Vases, 2006 was my first series working with large scale photograms. Placing an object directly on the photographic paper and exposing it to light. These are meant to re-envision traditional dutch vanities paintings representing metaphors of mortality. The series utilizes photographies ability to record things that are fleeting. In the first image the vase is whole and the next it has been smashed to bits.
